Q: Although it was a performance of just several hours, you must've experienced a big growth
LISA: That's right. I received a lot of inspiration and good energy. While watching performances of other musicians, I thought, 'I should do more of this too,' finding a new path.
Q: Is there any memory from this you that you would like to keep with you forever?
LISA: Of course, it would be Coachella. When I first stood on the stage of Coachella in 2019, I did not worry much. I was thinking of performing on stage just as I usually do without pressure, but this time I knew. I knew how the crowd would react when I'm on stage. Moreover, we were the headliner this year which I feel so honored. After coming down from the stage after the performance, I just started crying. Thinking about it, I felt a good pressure before standing on the stage. Since I was like 'wow, Coachella soon' a month before the event, I was thinking, “wow, what should I do?” 2 weeks before the event. After finishing the performance well, of course I did feel like some parts were lacking, but I was really relieved, and more importantly, I was so happy.
Q: Your positive energy must have reached the audience as well.
LISA: Even if I'm feeling down, I try to make myself feel better quickly. I dislike making others feel uncomfortable because of my bad mood. If that happens, I'm the type to feel more uncomfortable.
Q: Is there a moment that made you feel like you made the biggest leap forward?
LISA: Rather than a single moment, I think over time I gained more confidence. Since my total confidence was growing, my attitude on stage also changed. Of course, my first Coachella experience also played a big part. I feel like Coachella was not just a festival but a turning point in my life. I was pondering how I could make the cycle of making a comeback and activities, practicing after activities, and making a comeback again feel more exciting. But after Coachella, my way of thinking opened up, and I think I found a way to stand on stage and enjoy it to its fullest. This is not just me, but probably what all the members have experienced as well.
Q: What kind of person is 26-year-old Lisa?
LISA: When people think of “THE MUSICIAN LISA,” there may be different views, however, I think I am a very free person. I don't have food that I hate, and I'm not that sensitive either. When I'm asked to explain myself, I think “SUPER FREE” would come to my mind. #LISAxCELINE BLACKPINK
Q. How different and how similar is “MUSICIAN LISA” and “LALISA MANOBAN?”
LISA: I don't think there's a big difference. BLINKS would probably know. In some ways, I am as transparent as I look. I tend to be genuine with my thoughts and my actions. Even when I meet someone for the first time, I tend to pull out my real self. I don't feel like I have to make up myself to look good to other people. I just think, “This is me, so what?” So my friends often say to me, “You look really comfortable.” I often go out to meet my friends without any makeup and just my pajamas. #LISAxCELINE BLACKPINK
Q: What is the biggest change you have experienced during the last 1 year?
LISA: I'm recently thinking of something. Things that we can do are different according to age, right? These days, I'm thinking of the things that I can never do when I get older. So when there is something that I want to do, or want to say, I always try to do it. Whatever that is, I don't think, “No it's okay,” but rather, “Yes, I really wish to do it.” I now have become more honest with myself. #LISAxCELINE BLACKPINK
Q: What is your biggest ambition?
LISA: Becoming happy. I try to take care of my happiness more than anything these days. I have become faithful to my own happiness as long as it doesn't bother anyone else.
Q: So 26-year-old Lisa has decided to become bold for your happiness
LISA: It is a feeling that I really want to live for myself. I don't know. Maybe I hit puberty suddenly. We call this a quarter-life crisis right? (laughs)
Q: Do you remember your first CELINE piece?
LISA: It was a black belt bag. Since it was before my debut, I think I bought it when I was a teenager. At the time, I was carefully thinking of what to buy as my first designer bag. I wanted to find something that I could wear my whole life without thinking of the budget. Then my cousin who had a high interest in fashion recommended me, CELINE. After listening to her, I looked at a CELINE bag, and I wanted to buy it just after the first glance.
Q. So did you head to the store with your mom?
LISA: No. I went there alone. Riding a taxi in the morning. Right when the store opened (laughs).
Q: Was it a open-run (running to the store as soon as it opens)?
LISA: I was probably the first customer that day (laughs). The staffs had a questioning look, seeing a kid asking for a belt bag. I selected a big bag since I tend to carry lots of items with me. I'm very careful about it because it was my first designer bag. I don't wear it often. I keep it in my storage. #LISAxCELINE BLACKPINK
