Rosé has withdrawn from the KOMCA (Korea Music Copyright Association), the first Korean artist since Seo Taji in 2002 to do so.

According to an exclusive report from Dispatch, ROSÉ applied to terminate her contract with KOMCA (Korea Music Copyright Association) on October 31, 2024. After the three-month grace period, the termination was finalized on January 31, 2025, making her the first Korean artist since 2002 to withdraw from KOMCA, following Seo Taiji. Moving forward, all of ROSÉ’s copyrights will be managed by U.S. publishers. Atlantic Records will oversee the management and distribution of her music profits through partnerships with U.S. copyright organizations like ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) and BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.). A music industry official noted that, in ROSÉ’s case, separate copyright management in Korea and the U.S. would result in double fees, making this shift a more efficient approach as she expands her presence in the American market. It is also important to note that her very own publishing company, DREAM APT Publishing, is registered in the US.
